Afghan, A Poem

Written by Pary Shuaib

Generations of refugees
What will our identity be
After we’re robbed and raped
All our neighbors participate
The international community
Thanked us for our team, hospitality
Now they watch from afar
As if we’re having a party
While terrorists indulge
In our rich, fertile lands
Plotting their new headquarters
To spread their sick ideology
And further ruin the world

Careful with your complacency
Your corrupt diplomacy
Pray for Afghanistan
