My Kind of Love

A bouquet of roses,
A box of chocolate,
And even better a spree of shopping
Would be ideal.

But, washed dishes,
A clean house
And fed kids
Would make my day for real.

Thankful for the one day in a year
That reminds you to show love,
To spoil me,
To make me cheerful.

I do that every day of the year,
Around the clock.
In health and sickness.
Even when my heart is hurt and my eyes are tearful.

Every day would be Valentine’s Day for me,
If you appreciated what I do at home.
If you asked me whether I am tired.
A mere ‘thank you’ would make my day.
